So, for the past two months I have been in an air cast. I wish I could say that my injuries were sustained by doing something awesome, like base jumping, tripping over a giant snake, or even falling down my stairs. Unfortunately, it was nothing clever, awesome or funny.
What did I do, you ask? I fell out of my front door. Yeah. The whole 6 inches of it. I'm that talented.
I didn't go to the doctor immediately; it was a day later. I had my X-rays, got the results and continued on to the orthopedic doctor. (turns out, this guy and his colleagues have taken care of quite a few of the Washington Redskins). Anyway, I was told that there was a possible metatarsal fracture in the left foot and a sprained right foot. So, I got crutches, a brace for the sprain, and an air cast for the left foot.
Things progressed, I got into physical therapy, and went back to the doctor for a few weeks. Then... a dreaded day. We found a crack in my right foot! It is a calcaneous fracture. I had been putting pressure on that foot the entire time because it had never shown up in an X-ray. Luckily, my left foot was now free to be out of the cast, so I switched it to the right foot.
Currently, I am still in the cast on the right foot. I find out how it is healing the day before Thanksgiving. I'm really hoping to be free of the cast before Christmas time.
Here's a picture of me and my cast this morning.

My Fall Table
Decorating my home during the different seasons always makes me happy. The one area that gets the most attention is my dining table. I want it to feel like the season it's decorated for. In the fall tradition, using leaves and pumpkins are a no brainer!
Here is an over view of the table. It is simple, yet appropriate for the season. When the candles are lit, it creates a nice ambiance.
These little flower votive holders were too cute to pass up on when I saw them at Michael's craft store. I waited a little into the season to decorate, so I got them on clearance.
I also found these at Michael's. I filled up the holders with different colored rock filler and just shoved in votive candles. The leaves are also from Michael's.
Just how cute are these little pumpkins?! Their stems are all glittery and fantastic. There is an orange one on the other end. I think they really pull together the whole fall theme.
This poor table has seen better days. I have big plans for it though! I plan on staining it a darker color and we need real dining chairs. We also don't have fall placemats since the boys are so messy. It's just easier to wipe down a bare table. Oh, the runner is from Target. It never really gets switched out.
So, there it is. My simple, but appropriate fall season table. It's nothing fancy, but makes me feel like the season has been brought in my house.

Welcome!
Hello there!
Welcome to Life on the Clover Field. My name is Alicia and I will be hosting you in several topics of interest.
To begin the introductions, as I said, my name is Alicia and I am in my late 20's. I am a mom and almost of step mom to two boys, who are 10 months apart. Most of my days are spent chauffeuring them around and taking care of their needs.
Topics discussed here will be quite random; life discussion, movies, music, television, literature, beauty, etc. There is always something going on inside my head and heart to talk about.
I hope to be entertaining and insightful. Also, bear with me regarding the look of the blog. I am very new to everything. Thank you and I hope to keep up with posting two or three times a week.
